Eleven days, four pairs of hands, one garment
I
The cloth
Silk crepe and twill from Como, linen from northern Europe. Each roll is inspected against daylight before it is cut.

The stand
Every silhouette is draped on the stand first. The drawing follows the cloth, never the reverse.
III
The hand
Hems are rolled by hand. Seams are French. The reverse of a garment is finished as carefully as its face.
IV
The rest
Each piece hangs for forty-eight hours before final pressing, so the bias can settle into its own weight.
